Guard Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers were almost unstoppable during the 2008-09 NBA season. Starting out with an impeccable 21 wins and 3 losses, Bryant was named to his eleventh All-Star game where he would win co-MVP along with former teammate Shaquille O’Neal. With Bryant averaging just under 27 points per game, the Lakers steamrolled their way through the rest of the regular season and the playoffs to land the team’s 30th NBA Finals appearance. Bryant’s Finals MVP performance would prove to be far too much for the Orlando Magic, as Kobe led the Lakers to their fifteenth NBA Championship.
